Safety assessment Verbund

In this sub-project of the CLIMPACT4VERBUND project, the risk to the site infrastructure of the network due to extreme weather situations as a result of climate change is assessed. The relevant processes are mudflows, landslides and rockslides. In addition to a literature study, documented hazard events of the past are intersected with the sites of the network and regionalized meteorological trigger conditions are derived and the changes in the probability of recurrence due to climate change are calculated. Furthermore, climate-sensitive regions are identified and their impact on the locations is assessed. The results of the sub-project will contribute to the creation of hazard and exposure maps of the network sites.
