Testing and evaluation of the SOLIROC waste solidificatiion method.

An immobilisation method using a silikate reagent for the immobilisation of heavy metals was applied to three different waste materials and the immobilization products were examined according to the new Austrian landfill directive and to international test methods. The immobilisation was sucessful in chemically immobilizing some heavy metals, but was inefficient with regard to others.
