Abstract
The study deals with the analysis of the temporal and spatial crown canopy dynamics analysed using arial photographs in spruce-fir-beach-forests. Digital elevation models of canopy surface are derived from aerial photographs taken in the years 1962, 1991 and 1996. A digital elevation model of ground surface is also produced from a winter flight. The canopy height at each location can be calculated from the difference in elevation between the crown canopy and the ground surface.
