Abstract
In a world-wide co-operation, genetically modified food crops and their contribution to food quality and human nutrition as well as to agricultural practice and their importance for industrial products and processes will be assessed and described in detail, on the basis of the existing scientific data. Moreover, genetically modified livestock and fish, as well as genetically modified micro-organisms and generic concerns relevant to the sustainable use of genetically modified organisms will be analysed.
