Livelihood Security and Organic Agriculture in Uganda
Abstract
International markets for organic produce from southern countries have expanded considerable in the past, whereby Uganda is among the leading organic exporters in sub-Saharan Africa. The aim of the project is to develop a better understanding of the linkages among certified / non-certified organic agriculture, livelihood security and the larger institutional and policy environment. It is further aimed to identify options for augmenting livelihood security of the rural poor through certified and non-certified organic agriculture in Uganda.
