Abstract
The objective of this research project is to re-evaluate the approach to multiple order NDF digestion rate predictions using a mechanistic approach to the problem of rate estimation along with suggestions for required laboratory data. A mathematical approach has been developed but requires additional data and validation. To develop the data set, corn silages, grass silages and alfalfa silages will be fermented in vitro from 0 to 240 hours. After fermentation, NDF analyses will be carried out
