The Impact of Irrigation Development on Rural poverty and the Environment
Abstract
The aim of this project is to research the crucial role that water, in conjuction with other factors, needs to play to reduce poverty and food insecurity, while maintaining an environmental balance. To achieve this, the sutdy will do a comprehensive assessment of the impact of irrigation development on poverty and the environment. Work will be done in selected irrigation systems in Ethiopia that have a high inciedence of poverty and environmental concerns.
