Abstract
Within the project effects of a wind energy plant on the local occurrence of capercaillie (Tetrao urogallus) and black grouse (Tetrao tetrix) will be investigated in Lower Austria. Bird censuses will be conducted periodically as well as surveys of habitat quality and spatial habitat use of capercaillie. Additionally, the effectiveness of habitat-improving silvicultural measures will be evaluated.
