Potential of small-dimensioned broadleaved timber in the forestry-wood chain
Abstract
By means of forest-wood chains from the forest to the timber processing industry potentials of small-dimensioned broadleaved timber will be assessed. Of particular interest is the use of small dimension timber beyond energy production lines. Within the overall project frame the Institute of Silviculture is responsible for (a) the estimation of area and volume potentials of small dimension boradleaved timber (SDBT), (b) silvicultural production programmes, (c) modelling of process chains, and (d) the sustainability impact assessment of alternative value chains.
