Evaluation of an new ISO standard (draft version) for the antibiotic susceptibility testing of lactic acid bacteria by broth micro dilution.

Abstract
This international collaborative study is carried out involving seven laboratories and is divided into several sections. First of all, five control strains have to be tested in tenfold replicates to establish quality control limits for dilution tests using broth of three different manufacturers if possible. Such limits are of importance as the accuracy of the performance of antimicrobial susceptibility testing can be monitored. Furthermore about 30 strains belonging to various genera of lactic acid bacteria will be tested in twofold replicates to draw conclusions from the interlaboratory variance.
