Evaluation of area-related protection forest rehabilitation projects (pilot study)
Abstract
Since 1985 eleven area-related protection forest rehabilitation projects with an area of about 2100 ha have been in progress in the Salzkammergut . Within these pojects silvicultural operations are important acivities for achieving the defined protection functions. In this project the effectiviness of the implemented silvicultural operations should be evaluated based on case studies.. Main goals are to design a procedure for evaluation (control of success) and to develop a strategic controlling concept for the forest management of area-related protection forest rehabilitation projects.
