Space, cost and energy saving settlement development in the city of Wels

This project is about space-, cost- and energy-saving settlement development in the city of Wels. In cooperation with the city of Wels (planners, politicians, building cooperative) to work out planning strategies as a contribution to the local development concept of the city for optimizing the interdependency of energy efficient building and land consumption regarding the everyday usability for women and men, the youth and the elderly people. Aims and targets of the project: The aim of the project is to develop sustainable and innovative strategies for the implementation of space- and energy-saving settlement development that simultaneously meets the different needs and requirements of the users and inhabitants. • Development of basic principles and planning strategies as a contribution to the revision the local development concept of the city of Wels and to the local planning regulations • Ensure a sustainable settlement development throughout resource-conserving development (space-, cost- and energy-saving) as a contribution to deal with the challenges of climate change • In the development of these strategies the different needs and requirements of the everyday life of women and men, young and old (gender and diversity aspects) has to be taken into consideration
