Structural analysis of glycan-optimized biopharmaceuticals in plants
Abstract
The project aims for the introduction of the mammalian glycoconjugate sialylation biosynthetic pathway into plants and the evaluation of glycoengineered plants to be used as a versatile expression platform for therapeutically valuable proteins with a customised N-glycosylation profile. The project aims for the introduction of the mammalian glycoconjugate sialylation biosynthetic pathway into plants and the evaluation of glycoengineered plants to be used as a versatile expression platform for therapeutically valuable proteins with a customised N-glycosylation profile. The role of the chemistry department is to analyse the structure and quality of these products, especially their glycosylation.
