Abstract
A model-based vulnerability assessment of the current management system for the drinking water protection forests of the City of Vienna is conducted. Based on the results adaptive forest management strategies are developed and simulated under several transient climate change scenarios for the analysis period 2010-2100. The ecosystem model PICUS v1.44 will be enhanced and used for the analysis. Particular emphasis will be on disturbances by bark beetles and storms.
