Use and efficiency of public support measures addressing organic farming (TENDER N° AGRI-2010-EVAL-12)
Abstract
The aim of the study is to obtain a description and an assessment of the public instruments used to support the development of organic agriculture in the European Union. This should be done by describing, reviewing and categorising the public support measures used and the level of support offered. The interaction between the public instruments used should be analysed. Each mix of instruments used should then be related to the evolution of the supply of organic products and conversion to organic farming. The study shall clearly identify and analyse crucial issues in the implementation of the public instruments in use in view of putting forward relevant conclusions for the future development of the policy. In this respect the study is expected to identify effective support models (best practises) and to produce evidence that can be used to design the future policy for the organic food and farming sector
