Optimisation of raw material and energy consumption during fibre production
- Nachwachsende Rohstoffe und neue Technologien
Abstract
In the course of this project, an industrial fibreboard manufacturing process should be evaluated regarding its potential for optimisation. This will be achieved by specially designed trials, whereas process parameters are varied in the sections pre steam boiler, digester, and refiner. The resulting fibre quality should be monitored in order to determine its effect on the subsequent process and board properties. In addition to that, variations in raw material and seasonal effects will be considered. The analysis will be made with ideal statistical methods, in order to cope with the multivariate interactions, prevailing in industrial environments. As a consequence, current assumptions of associations between raw material, process, and product parameters can be verified. The actual implementation of optimisation measures and the monetary assessment will not be part of this project.
