Improving the efficiency of bed load sediment at the Gadria torrent
Abstract
The Gadriabach, a tributary to the river Etsch, is a very active torrent producing a lot of debris floods and debris flows. Therefore it is important to manage the debris sources and the debris transport. Still now, a filtering check dam is situated at the upper fan. The managing costs of this structure are very high, because all the deposited sediment has to be removed yearly. To increase the efficiency of this structure labaratory experiments should be carried out.
