Disposal site Rautenweg - test site gravel turf
Abstract
Currently the disposal site Rautenweg in Vienna is partly vegetated. A research shall clarify how to vegetate the disposal site permanently and sustainable. Gravel turf will be attached on the berms of the rampart in order to improve their geotechnical stability and their vegetation technical performance. Different materials for the vegetation layer (top soil) and sowing techniques will be tested. In terms of the vegetation technical and botanical characteristics and the prospective usage of the berms (occasional transport road for trucks) a specific seed mix will be used. This research shall identify an approach to solution for green berms of the disposal site using a bearing and sustainable vegetated consolidation method.
