Agricultural Income Calculation
Abstract
In Austria - just as in other EU-countries - the development of agricultural income is calculated following two different methodologies. Firstly, it is calculated as a synthesised statistic based on a large number of production-, trade-, price- and other statistics (the Economic Accounts of Agricultural – EAA as part of the National Accounts). Secondly, it is derived from bookkeeping data from a sample of farms (the Farm Accountancy Data Network – FADN). The task of this project is the analysis of specific aspects of these income calculations, thereby contributing to the permanent quality assurance of the EAA. In this context specific attention is payed to regional accounts following freely selected regional demarcations. An important cornerstone to this is the establishment of EAA on the Nuts3-level.
