IEA Bioenergy - Task 37: Energy from Biogas and Landfill Gas, 2013 - 2015
Abstract
By participating in this task, it is aimed to work in a network of international experts on key topics of biogas technology, i.e. reclamation from industrial-, municipal- and agricultural sources including energy crops. Concentrated information / results will be properly prepared for all concerned interested Austrian players (biogas users, companies, consultants, authorities, associations) by means of reports, workshops, brochures, newsletters and internet websites. In the 3 years project, the main focus lies on the economic optimisation of the biogas process, the upgrading of biogas to bio-methane and its utilisation as biofuel, the investigation of alternative resources (e.g. algae), the up-grading / processing of digestate to a biofertiliser. In addition, Life Cycle assessment and emission management of the biogas process are of big concern. The gained information will be distributed to Austrian government representatives, industry and research institutions.
