Abstract
In the framework of the ASP 2007-2013, a consistent number of projects focused their attention on the promotion of energy production from renewables and the optimization of water resource exploitation. In addition, hydropower is the most important renewable in alpine areas, but it may create serious environmental impacts, as well. RES-e Directive require a renewable electricity enhance but, at the same time, the Water Framework Directive obliges member States to reach a water bodies "good" ecological status. In fact, several projects addressed their interest on hydropower generation and on the preservation of natural ecosystems. Significant outcomes have been achieved by these projects, but often it was not possible to create a direct link with key beneficiaries. The main objective of the AIM project is to be a sort of “megaphone” of the ASP projects achievements related to water & energy, through specific dissemination actions addressed to relevant policy/management actors impacting on EU/national/regional policies.
