RVK Lienz - Bicycle traffic plan for Lienz – evaluation and modular revision
Abstract
On behalf of the city of Lienz the current but dated bicycle traffic plan is going to be evaluated and revised. The focus is on the analysis of problems and stock of existing or lacking bicycle infrastructure. The evaluation should reveal implemented measures as well as the potential for improvements of bicycle infrastructure and supply for cyclists. Specific issues to support and promote cycling in Lienz are treated modularly. They comprise an analysis of the launch of an extensive speed limit (30 kph) and its utility for bicycle traffic; measures to promote cycling for leisure and education trips; suggestions for touristic cycling as well as recommendations and special demands of e-bikes on cycling infrastructure. The results will be discussed with the mobility council and will be integrated in the overall traffic plan of Lienz.
