Climate and energy monitoring for spatial planning at local level
Abstract
Aim of the project is to develop a climate and energy monitoring for spatial planning at local level. Thus the project is based on the results and methods developed in the framework of energy projects as ELAS, PlanVision etc. The project serves as a means of implementing an applicable „climate-proofing“ for spatial planning according to the recommendations for action of the „Austrian strategy for adaptation to climate change“ as well as other strategic policy documents. Climate and energy monitoring shall enable municipalities, regulating authorities as well as politicians and the interested public to recognise the relevance of spatial planning measures for climate protection, mobility and energy policy in the planning and decision process at the local level and consequently, to set appropriate actions. The method is developed for spatial planning at the local level on the basis of three municipal case studies.
