There are big differences in the agriculture structure in the middle and east European countries. Producers of agricultural machinery are challenged to design theire machines so, that they are adapted optimally on the different working conditions. The present work should find out how working parameters of drilling machines are different in particular countries. Starting with the statistic analyses about the structure of the agricultural area in the different countries two main aspects are discussed. The first part contains an analysis of the capacity of drilling machines. Therefore the available field working days have to been defined. In combination with the required time for work (obtained from KTBL- planning-data) the used number of drilling machines can be calculated. In the second part the working time parameters for drilling machines are discussed in more detail. In different models the required time for field working and turnaround at the head land as well as the way-distance between farm and field is simulated. The solutions of these calculations are structured in different machine types, working widths and working conditions. There are big differences in the countries in the required time for the turnaround at the head land and for transport between the fields. These times are also important for the mechanical consistence of the machines. Some different farms are analysed for validation the calculated solutions. The structure of the agricultural area is controlled with the help of satellite pictures.
