Every year accidents involving children happen in the agriculture around tractorareas. There are three main reasons: driving along or being co-driver, playing or working around the tractor, running to the driving vehicle causes lethal and serious non-lethal injuries. Causative factors are related to development of the children, behaviour of the parents, construction of the vehicles, which causes a limitation in the field of vision, especially in the area of the large rear tires and in front of the hood. This increases the danger for farm children or those, who spent their holiday on a farm. To reduce the number of accidents involving children preventive measures alone do not help, it needs technical support. The market offers several systems, like rear park assistant, vehicle installed camera system, ultrasound distance sensor, radar and avalanche guard, but none offers an acceptable solution, because they only work within a limited distance. According to this information an affordable system is needed, including a sensor unit/alarm unit and a slumbered transponder, which promises continuous detection of the near-field zone (20 m) around vehicles and their associated machinery as well as far-field detection (2,5 m).
