Functional and Social Area Analysis “Schallmoos West“
- Lebensraum und Landschaft
Abstract
The City of Salzburg intends to implement an urban design competition for a part of the district Schallmoos. Due to the renovation of the central station and the new station passage the district is more attractive and a new dynamic is visible in Schallmoos. The development and upgrading of the neighbourhood in a high-quality and mixed-use residential and commercial site should be guided by overall urban standards and planning competitions. As a basis the „Masterplan Schallmoos West 2012“ was developed. In this masterplan a block between the Gnigerstraße/Vogelweiderstraße/Breitenfelderstraße/Bayerhammerstraße is assigned as a development area. Within the urban development project (Baublockentwicklung) the area is analysed in a functional and social area analysis. In particular the needs and requirements of inhabitants, user groups and experts which were underrepresented or not reached by the participation process should be analyzed. Their demands on the public spaces and the social infrastructure are to be derived.
