Abstract

This long term interdisciplinary research task is based on forest accountancy data networks addressing small scale forestry as well as bigger forest enterprises in Austria. A major task of BOKU in this project is the administration and further development of a specific research database, which comprises regularly collected accountancy data of some 200 forest enterprises. Whereas data collection in the field is mostly accomplished by external project partners, the role of BOKU is to compute results on different levels of aggregation. Respective figures are most valuable, empirical data for forest policy as well as research and teaching in forest economics. Some of the major results are regularly published in the report on forestry of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Regions and Water Management.
