WATER MANAGEMENT SYSTEM BASED ON INNOVATIVE MONITORING EQUIPMENT AND DSS; CRAFT-1999-72326
Abstract
The task of Water Monitor is to establish a management system for drinking water that originates fom various different sources., The objective is to minimise pollution risks and to optimise drinking water quality under the restrictions of time varying demand and availability To obtain the prospected objectives, the project previews the realisation of an early warning system by the integration of a Decision Support System (DSS) and an innovative submersible spectrometer, the spectro::lyser. The Spectrometer gives an exhaustive description of water quality in real time and detects automatically potentially dangerous situations. while the DSS supports the plant operator in dealing with alarm situations. The Water Monitor system aims at the development and testing of a new spectrometric measurement method called Delta Spectrometry. A probe shall be used in-situ to produce and communicate water quality information relevant to plant operators and consumers in real-time.
