Abstract
The stability of the of the water protection forests is under threat due to climate change. Drought stress during the vegetation period may have direct and indirect negative implications for vigor and growth of forest trees. Within the work group 3 project hydrological models will be parametrized to evaluate the 'leaf area carrying capacity' under climate change scenarios and to give a basis for adaptive management strategies. Among other data bases, pedotransferfunctions for hydrologically relevant soil parameters will be developed.
