Forest Ecosystem Management
Abstract
Biogeochemical-mechanistic models (BGC-Models) assess the flux of energy, carbon, nitrogen and water within ecosystems. They are considered as the classical carbon cycle tools within climate change research etc. An important limitation of mechanistic models is that forest management is not explicitly included. This limits its applicability for carbon modeling, sustainability studies, water regime assessments, and climate change interactions, etc. The mission of this project is to develope a conceptual framework to incoorporate management routines within BGC-Models and validate the results using long term experimental plots.
