- Abstract
- The municipality Traiskirchen wants to strike a new path regarding the spatial development. A steady population growth in the municipality is leading to an increasing development pressure. Urban sprawl tendencies are visible and near-natural landscapes, former agricultural land or formerly commercially used areas are increasingly converted into building land. These trends will - as the population projections for the south of Vienna also show - continue in the future or might even increase.
The aim of the project "Preliminary study for a landscape development concept of the municipality Traiskirchen" is the development of a basis for a landscape development concept for the municipality Traiskirchen taking into account future challenges like changed climatic conditions, demographic change or further increased settlement activity (including the neighboring communities). Taking into account social, economic and environmental sustainability, a scientific analysis of the municipality is the basis for the development of strategies and thus for an inclusive spatial development of the municipality Traiskirchen.
