LooPi - the autarkic unisex plant urinal for public spaces. Beta version.
Abstract
LooPi is an autarkic unisex plant urinal for public spaces, whose wastewater is purified through an integrated green wall, and then reused for flushing. LooPi is currently on stand TRL 4 (experimental setup in the laboratory) and will be further developed with LooPi BETA VERSION on TRL 7 (prototype in use). On the one hand, the LooPi BETA VERSION project will make LooPi an efficient urban green technology that will transform human excretions into useful nutrients. Furthermore, LooPi as a unisex urinal represents a cultural innovation. Within the project LooPi BETA VERSION, the design of the system and the technology used will be optimized on the basis of the insights gained.
