Model Catchment Rindbach - Forests
Abstract
This subproject deals with the enhancement of standard forest management planning procedures of ÖBf AG with focus on ecosystem service provisioning, regeneration dynamics incl. browsing by ungulates; simulation of forest dynamics with PICUS ecosystem model; and the establishment of silvicultural demonstration plots. Activities include (a) testing of additional attributes from terrestrial and remote sending sources, (b) regeneration survey, (c) simulation experiments with PICUS to project vegetation dynamics and related protection services against gravitational hazards, and (d) the establishment of silvicultural demonstration plots with focus on stand regeneration in steep terrain.
