Organic mountain agriculture in Tyrol – contribution for climate protection and adaptation strategies
Abstract
The research focus is to investigate the contribution of Organic Mountain Agriculture of Tyrol towards a reduction of climate negative effects, and the potential to adapt to changing climatic conditions. Besides agriculture we also wish to study the important sector of tourism in context to agriculture. The project results include the current contribution, scenarios and pathways of organic agriculture, input industry, processing and trade of products, their activities in tourism in context to strategies which could be effective to avoid negative climate effects and adoptions to climate change. Further more we investigate - besides calculations of climatic relevant agricultural measures and nutrition patterns and descriptions of climatic relevant tourism activities in context to organic agriculture, also perceptions, the awareness and knowledge about climatic relevant processes and behaviour of key actors in the region.
