Heterologous expression of virion protein from White Spot Syndrome Virus in Lactobacillus species for oral vaccination in shrimp
Abstract
White spot syndrome virus (WSSV) is currently the most serious viral pathogen of crustaceans and especially of shrimp, both worldwide as well as in Vietnam. The objective of this project is to study the expression levels of envelope protein VP28 from WSSV,which is a potential candidate for a vaccine against WSSV, in inducible pSIP systems (for example pSIP603, pSIP609) with Lactobacillus plantarum TLG02 as expression host, and to adopt this system to constitutive and extracellular expression. Overall, the aim is to develop an oral vaccine based on lactobacilli that can be used in shrimp cultivation and aquaculture
