Abstract
The current methods used by SONY DADC Biosciences GmbH to functionalize substrates for controlled biomolecular interactions follow typical industry standards for molecular coupling to epoxy or amine functionalized surfaces. The substrate is thereafter blocked for further nonspecific biomolecular adsorption. In this project next generation techniques for immobilizing antibodies as functional component for biochips will b tested, with focus on controlled immobilization on substrates that have been made nonfouling before the immobilization by grafting of chemically functionalized polymer films onto a set of comercially interesting substrates produced by SONY DADC Biosciences GmbH.
