Future of local supply - Study on securing and developing local supply in Burgenland
Abstract
The preservation of local supply is a key challenge in rural development. The decline affects mainly sparsely populated and small-structured regions. In particular, older persons and less mobile persons are affected by the change in the offer. The aim of the study "Future of Local Supply" is the elaboration of an manual for newcomers and founders in the field of local supply. For this purpose, a differentiated method for the evaluation and presentation of the current situation of the local supply in the Burgenland communities is being developed. Based on this data and the mapping of current trends related to local supply (practice examples), recommendations for action are made. Another focus is the exploration of funding opportunities and reflection on structures for long-term support of local supply.
