Contributions on Open Space Planning – Urban pop-up housing environments and their potential as local innovation systems
Abstract
This PHD project deals with potential dwelling forms that help to fulfill the rising need for affordable, temporary living space that can be rapidly implemented. These dwelling forms should be removable, self-sufficient, sustainable and foster innovative forms of interaction, integration and learning. The trans- and interdisciplinary team includes three landscape planners. Contributions to open space planning will be composed on the following topics: analysis of best practice examples, checklist and mapping of adequate areas in Vienna and scenarios and models of possible temporary dwelling forms, especially on aspects of ecological building and using of open spaces, primary production as well as the suitability of uses and the ability of removal of open spaces.
