Effects of increased temperature in water supply systems
Abstract
The influences by climate change or changed periodicity and duration of meteorological "events" cause changes in the temperature balance of the groundwater. Accordingly the temerature in supply systems may also change. The temperature profile may change along the supply chain (well abstrsction, treatment, storage, distribution network, inhouse instllation). The aim of the project is to develop an overall assessment regarding the situation and challenge for the different drinking water supply structures in Austria on the basis of the evaluation of existing data and investigations at the individual waterworks.
