Integrative ecological management of the River Traun and Alm
Abstract
The project aims for an improvement of the fish ecological situation at the Rivers Traun and Alm and for the maintenance of this condition. The integrative nature of the project aims to address as many aspects as possible in connection with the current unsatisfactory ecological condition. These include deficits in the habitat, the influence of piscivorous predators, fisheries management, fish diseases and other stressors. The innovative character of the research project consists in the holistic consideration of the stressors and the development of solutions with all relevant stakeholders.
