Calculation of current and future CO2e emissions from the Anaerobic Power Biogas Benesov (APBB) biogas plant and savings compared to the status quo.
Abstract
APBB exclusively processes organic waste from household, commercial and industrial sources. Currently, the organic waste is treated anaerobically in a biogas plant and biogas is used in a CHP plant to generate electricity. In the future, green hydrogen and liquid CO2 will be produced in "food quality" from a portion of the biogas. It is currently the first plant worldwide that will produce hydrogen in this configuration and process technology (without electrolysis). The aim of the project is therefore to quantify the current CO2e emissions and potential savings compared to the status quo and to prepare a report.
