Abstract
The functioning of this new german invention, built by Peri GmbH (Germany), was tested on a testfield in the Lower Austrian Alps. The so called snow-stabilizer is an innovative, low cost control measure against snow gliding on steep slopes with high snowdephts. Also afforestation could be facilitated with this construction. Furthermore the gliding snow avalanches , typical for the late winterseason could be avoided in the last three winters.
