Development and application of the simulation model SETRAC as basis for a area-wide, dynamic and regional land use planning.
Abstract
The determination of the potential of risks in alpine catchment areas by computer simulations allows a flexible modeling of dangerous areas. The advantage is the possibility of taking different natural parameters into consideration and therefore allowing diverse simulations of sediment transport in a very efficient way. With the simulation model SETRAC the existing concepts of computer simulation models (ELLA for avalanches, ACURAT for water runoff) is enhanced by a substantial component and covers a wide range of possibilities of risks in alpine catchment areas.
