WLS Report 86: Risk analysis (winter safety) for the track section Pass Lueg (km 31,350-38,400)

The Austrian Federal Railways explore the efficiency of relocating the track section on Pass Luegg. Due to a tunnel which should be built in order to replace the track section, damage caused by natural hazards like rock fall or avalanches could be prevented in the considered region. By the help of a risk analysis the avalanche risk on the track section has to be determined and the potential damage has to be appraised monetarily. The results of the project will be a used as the decision support for the railway organisation to realize the tunnel project.
