Overall objective To enhance maize performance and soil productivity through use of soil amendments and biological nitrogen fixation in legumes Specific objectives To determine the effects of lime, rockphosphate, farmyard manure and biological nitrogen fixation in legumes on maize yield and soil available N and P To compare maize performance and soil available N and P under different maize cropping systems To determine amount of N fixed by the legumes
