Applicability of the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) for evaluating efficiency in forestry
Abstract
Data Envelopment Analysis is an analyticell tool for the comparative assessment of efficiency which could assist the efforts for rationalizing forest operations on variaous levels. The project aims at identifying potential applications of this new or at least hardly known tool in forestry. Respective prerequisites for a successful application are to be investigated with regard to various economic problems. Ulitmately, guidleines for the practical specification and application of this tool are to be elaborated.
