Using the tree growth model MOSES in management districts of the ÖBF AG
Abstract
Within the last years we developed a tree growth model called MOSES (MOdeling Stand rESponse) explicitly designed to predict the growth of trees within individual stands. In combination with the stand generation program STANDGEN, the system may be used for any kind of silvicultural scenario analysis. The mission of this project is to use these tools and combine and/or integrate it within the inventory system of the Austrian Federal Forest Company. Two different management districts were selecte and in combination with the routine inventory system of the company the data needs, end user demands will be defined to provide a proto type implementation for the stand management system of the company.
