Abstract
Objectives Cultural historical, landscape planning and building craft information is materialized in wooden constructions and small scale architecture (“Archives of Knowledge”). The research project contains and aims at detailed contextualization of such constructions. It serves the project outcomes for innovations in the field of material- and building technique before the constructions as a source of information will disappear. The intention is to contribute to the maintenance of material and immaterial cultural goods, such as building craft, knowledge concerning the use of timbers and its transfer by practice of the craft, which have been neglected so far. Benefits The research project ties in with international research intentions in the field of Cultural Heritage. Recently attention was attracted by to this field increasingly. Through national and international discourse, the cumulated knowledge will be opened to garden heritage conservation, public and private sustainers, the craft industry and timber technology. Furthermore optimizing strategies are created.
