Abstract
The project`s aim is to verify the potential of analytical methods to be qualified for hygiene monitoring of packaging materials to be used for certain food stuffs. Depending on the current needs one method will be chosen for a defined purpose (packaging category, food category, packaging procedure, possible re-contaminations during packaging caused by the production environment) and optimized and validated to meet the requirements. Furthermore, it is envisaged to implement the method best within the internal packaging production process and a sampling plan will be developed to enable hygiene monitoring of the packaging material with statistical confidence.
