Abstract
Since the 1960s numbers of European hares declined in Europe. In line with this, population density in the area around Basel (CH) is critically low. In this PhD project we test whether food limitation in summer has a major impact on hare density in that area. For this feeding experiments and habitat improvements are conducted.
